Craig Munsen will be the first United States Veteran listed on a Hydr8 label. It is our great honor to have the permission of his family to share Craig with our supporters, consumers, and friends.
Craig flew with my father, Hydr8's Chief of Veteran's Affairs, retired Naval Captain Mark T. McNally. In the photograph above, around the time I was completing high school in 1993, my Dad was pinning on Craig's Lt. bars as he was being promoted to Lieutenant. They were in VA-36, and my father was a Commander and the Commanding Officer (CO) of the A-6 Intruder squadron fondly called the Roadrunners.
I remember vividly one afternoon in 1996 when my mother hung up the kitchen phone, visibly upset, and told me about Lt. Munsen's tragic death. I can still almost feel how his loss reverberated throughout our entire family, just as it did many times throughout my childhood when a hero my family knew and loved had fallen.
It is my hope that as the Hydr8 brand grows, people will take the time to read the label and honor our United States Veterans and their families. When they do, I hope they also ask, "Who was Lt. Craig Munsen?"
